A Thanksgiving Clambert Special!
12/08/2021
It was a balmy, cloudless November day, and Clambert Bubber could not contain his excitement: it was ALMOST Thanksgiving!
Turkey Day was his favorite. He was surrounded by his family, who he loved so much. He got to eat as much delicious Thanksgiving food as he wanted. And he got to see friends who stopped by the house to play. It was truly the best day.
This year for Thanksgiving, there was a new twist: Clambert’s dad told him they were going to a farm to pick their very own turkey. Clambert had no idea what that meant...but he was still so excited to go see live turkeys on a farm.
Those big, colorful, noisy birds just strutting around, chests puffed out, waiting to celebrate their own day, Clambert mused to himself. They literally have a day just for them, so cool! Like a birthday, but for ALL turkeys. Turkey Day!
Finally the day came to go to the farm and pick a turkey. Clambert was so excited, he had gotten out of bed early and already gotten dressed. Such a good little boy he was, he wanted to be totally prepared for the farm. So he started reading about Thanksgiving on his tablet.
“Every year for Thanksgiving, Americans celebrate with family and food,” Clambert read on the internet. “Turkeys traditionally hold a sacred place for Thanksgiving as the centerpiece of the family gathering.” So turkeys become part of the family every year, so cool!
“While it is customary to select whole turkeys from a local grocery store, some families will bring farm turkeys to the Thanksgiving meal, taking the time to dress it properly for the meal.”
No way, the turkey has a dress code on Turkey Day? It’s like Halloween for turkeys!! Wait, I need to pick an outfit for our turkey...
Clambert was beside himself with excitement...he was gonna dress his first turkey. He raced into his closet, thinking about the weather, turkey feathers, fall colors and any other factor that might influence the clothes he needed to pick out. This had to be a PERFECT turkey outfit.
