Quiet Intentions

07/09/2024

Without words an intention we easily see,

Through quivering lips and an overwhelmed eye.

Birthed by the womb of a heart brimming full.

Expecting no more, and no less than bold try.

Through quivering lips and an overwhelmed eye,

We answer intending to breach a blue veil.

Expecting no more, and no less than bold try,

Skin taught and wet, like the cloth on a sail.

We answer intending to breach a blue veil,

Reversing in fear of a deeply set spurn.

Skin taught and wet, like the cloth on a sail.

We dance and we skip until the other’s fair turn.

Reversing in fear of a deeply set spurn,

Our intentions melt wide and soak into earth.

Left with the taste of a cold, desperate yearn,

We return to our rooms, full only of dearth.
