Immutable Touch

He caught a shy glance from across the floor,

And prickled from stunned head to wobbled toe.

How quickly she breached his sleep-drunk soul, lo!

Awakening a purr that begged for more.

She withdrew her soft tendrils from his core,

Leaving one small claw that so gently tore,

A gap, a chance for a bold seed to grow,

A feat, so sweet from within to behold.

To most a thorn; to him, a shining dore.

Whether to wither has no place in mind,

For love wanders through tunnels deeply laid,

And brightens grey walls in a search to find,

Minuscule signs of a desire prayed.

An eternal blaze kept for one so kind,

Who deftly casts off his wistful, heart shade.
