A Snow Day Poem for FC Highlife
02/08/2010
One cool, balmy day
Many eons ago,
Land, lake and creatures
Were enveloped in snow.
White, silent tears
Dripped from above,
Covering all life forms
With God's frozen love.
Suddenly nature,
For so long hot and humid,
Turned summer to winter
And Bug into human.
Flash forward to present,
2 months of mild weather,
A January cool
Like a cowboy's first leather.
Then February said,
"Enough! I want cold."
And down from the heavens,
A storm did unfold.
Like the soldiers of Persia,
The snow was relentless
Knocking out power lines,
And making a huge mess.
The City shut down,
The landscape turned white
And Saturday morning,
There was a snowball fight! (imagine Willem Dafoe here)
The Saints won New Orleans
And Brennan said "fuck",
Scott Merrill's mustache
Brought him good luck.
Lambert got booped!
Clark played with his boner.
Morsey got hammed
And found a blood donor (he's dying of Jameson).
McCabe drank new beer,
For his BBQ shop
Pat pulled his pants down,
And something went plop!
Wurm drank and danced,
Joy pounced and pranced,
Lex sent out pics
Of his new girl from France.
As for me, I'm off crutches
And laughing with Fokker,
Looking for jobs,
And looking forward to soccer.
For all of you friends,
It's important to say,
Be gentle, be bold
and Happy Boy Scout Day.
