On Football, Futbol, and Beirut

The Redskins promoted Bruce Allen to be their football ops guy. I think this is a terrible move. In fact, I am convinced that there is one singular TV show parallel that best exemplifies the Redskins and their fans in this era of football. Anyone watch The Walking Dead? Well, Redskins fans are like the citizens of Woodberry, who keep holding on to this false sens of hope and are otherwise completely unprepared for the worst. And Dan Snyder is the Governor, who mercilessly slaughters those Woodberry citizens because he is so thoroughly power-hungry and only blood can satiate his selfish, destructive needs.
College football has completely lost my attention. I have watched about 15mins so far this bowl season. Can't get past the money, or the low quality of actual football. Baylor played no one special this year, got ranked high enough to make it to a "BCS" bowl and then were embarrassed by UCF? And we want to hire Art Briles as the new Washington head coach?? I'll still root for Vandy even if I don't watch them play on Saturday, but mostly because I think this might be Franklin's last year in college football and he should go out with a bowl win.
Watching Galatasary vs. Maccabi Tel-Aviv basketball today was worth a few minutes just for the Turkish space house music played during dead balls and timeouts, and the crowd cheering and singing relentlessly from the opening tip-off to well after the game ended in a loss for the home team. Sports fans abroad are on another level.
Another car bombing in Beirut. My mom told me everyone is ok, which is a blessing. Again. Just want to get to Lebanon safely this year with Sarah and see my family.
I am very proud of all my siblings.
